Life brings its challenges and struggles and in many cases we are quite capable of managing these on our own. We are able to develop strategies for coping that are effective and positive. Sometimes though, we find that there are events in life for which our toolbox of strategies contains no tool. We find ourselves off course, with no way to get back on-emotionally, physically, financially or spiritually.

Other times, we may choose not to deal directly with life’s issues and challenges but instead to ignore them or just keep moving forward. The more we deal with life in this manner, the more difficult it may become to move on after each successive disappointment, frustration or conflict. An accumulation of unresolved issues can overflow into our lives in the form of stress, anxiety, depression, irritability, lack of focus, or even physical symptoms such as headaches.

Psychotherapy (Counseling) can help if issues like depression, anxiety, panic, grief, poor self-esteem, OCD, past traumas, or gender dysphoria are getting in the way of living our lives fully. Our concerns seem more manageable when we talk about them with someone we trust. As we unburden ourselves to a supportive, empathic listener, our perspective on the problem often begins to change. Counseling helps us to work through the thoughts and behaviors that keep us from doing what we know would be helpful. The therapeutic alliance with our Counselor, teaches us to look beyond obstacles and to get unstuck. We are able to regain a sense of strength, control and pleasure in life.

Relationship, Marriage or Couples Counseling can help when we are feeling disconnected from our partner, and don’t know how to get back to the closeness we once enjoyed. When innocent interactions can suddenly turn into angry conflicts or lingering silences, and we can’t seem to resolve them, perhaps we need professional support. We can be shown how to restore our loving connection in Counseling, before it’s too late.

Family Counseling or Family Therapy can be helpful, if we feel confused about how to best parent our child or teenager. Adolescent or Child Counseling is extremely helpful for issues such as bullying, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger, divorce, school performance, a death in the family, OCD, and self-esteem. Sometimes our children may need a trustworthy professional to help them work through some of the difficult transitions they are unable or as yet unwilling to discuss with us. If we are concerned that our child or teen’s behavior may be a signal of a more serious issue, we may want a professional evaluation. Life Skills Resource Group is here to help.

We may feel emotionally healthy, but sense that we are not achieving our full potential. In that case, Life Coaching is the right choice. Through the Coaching relationship we are able to clarify our passion and purpose. We gain a “thought partner;” someone to help us say aloud and make concrete those ideas and dreams that go around in our heads, but never seem to become a reality. Staying on track is a challenge, and we need to be held accountable to the goals we set. A Life Coach is here for you.
