As a Therapist, I find that people are often struggling in life because they have learned to deny themselves the right to want their lives to be different, better, more enjoyable or what they’ve always dreamed. They feel trapped and have settled into accepting the unacceptable. They haven’t allowed for the possibility of change. Eventually, things become so unbearable that they are forced to seek the help of a professional, as crisis is often the catalyst for change. I am honored to be able to work with clients experiencing grief/loss, anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, gender dysphoria and social skills issues-including Asperger’s Syndrome.

My approach to working with clients is somewhat eclectic and can include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoeducation, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Art Therapy, as dictated by the needs of the client. This includes work on thought restructuring, processing grief, training in stress management, and practicing social and coping skills- offered in an environment of gentleness, caring, encouragement, praise, consistency and persistence.
I have earned a Fine Arts degree from the University of West Georgia and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Before entering private practice, I was an elementary school teacher of
Pre- K/Kindergarten students on the Autism Spectrum.

If you feel that you, your child, or your family is ready for change, please contact me for a free consultation via phone at (321) 352-2258 or by email TherapistKimMurphy@gmail.com
